2026 Update from Fox Lea Mini Horse Rescue
As we move through 2026, we are grateful for another year of giving miniature horses a second chance.
What began with the rescue of a pregnant mare named Skittles and the birth of her tiny foal, Peanut, has grown into a mission dedicated to helping vulnerable miniature horses find safety, healing, and loving homes. Today, Fox Lea Mini Horse Rescue continues to provide rescue, rehabilitation, sanctuary, education, and adoption services for miniature horses in need.
This year has brought both challenges and successes. We have welcomed new horses requiring specialized care, continued supporting our senior and sanctuary residents, and celebrated adoption successes that remind us why this work matters. Our therapy and community outreach programs have also continued to grow, bringing the comfort and joy of miniature horses to nursing homes, schools, community events, and people who simply need a reason to smile.
Every horse that arrives at Fox Lea has a story. Some come from neglect, some from owners facing difficult circumstances, and some need lifelong sanctuary because of medical or behavioral challenges. Regardless of their past, each horse is treated with compassion, dignity, and respect.
None of this would be possible without our supporters, volunteers, adopters, and donors. Your generosity provides hay, veterinary care, farrier services, shelter, enrichment, and the countless daily necessities that keep our minis healthy and thriving.
As we look ahead, our commitment remains unchanged: to provide a safe place for miniature horses in need while educating our community about responsible horse ownership and the remarkable bond between people and horses.
Thank you for being part of the Fox Lea family and helping us write more happy endings—one little horse at a time.
With gratitude,
